Scholarship Information

The Barbara Y. Smith Scholarship Program was established in honor of Barbara Y. Smith, affectionately known as "Grandma," was created to support the collegiate educational pursuits of track and field athletes.  Grandma has supported and encouraged thousands of track and field athletes across the U.S.  

The Barbara Y. Smith Scholarship is awarded annually to a high school senior from the D.C., Maryland, or Virginia who demonstrates academic scholarship and achievement, community engagement, and track and field participation.  To apply for the scholarship, complete the application below and email your submission to admin@barbaraysmithscholarship.org.  The deadline for scholarship submissions is October 1, 2022.

The Scholarship Program is funded by generous donations made by Grandma's family, friends, and others who have been impacted by Grandma's service to the community.
